Dear Mom on the iPhone,
I’m just like you. I am a freelance designer, a blogger, and Etsy shop owner. I am often connected. I try to keep up with life in tiny bits and pieces as the day goes on so that I don’t have to do it all in the middle of the night.
I just wanted to tell you how much you rock. Because while you were at the park with your kids, doing something on your phone while they played independently, I was taking a nap with my infant on the couch. While I was taking that nap on the couch, my 2 year old was watching the Today Show. Not KLG & Hoda. Don’t worry. I don’t let him watch that! (I record the 4th hour for nap time viewing) It was like the 8am hour. A little Al Roker never hurt anybody.
So mom at the park on her phone, you rock, because you made it to the park. Your kids are playing and clearly happy. My kids are happy too. Even when I’m not in perfect mommy mode 24/7.
I’m just like you.
I can’t begin to thank Ashlee from Where my Heart Resides enough for her post. It made me cry. I am a good mom. Even on the bad days. In this time where the seemingly perfect mommy bloggers have it all and make us feel like we’re doing something wrong when we don’t (you moms still rock too, I just don’t understand where you got your magic powers). In this time where Pinterest really makes you question how many hours are in other people’s days. Or where their kids are when they are working on all these crafts AND looking gorgeous while doing so. Endless “tot school” websites make you feel like you aren’t educating your kid enough. I’m just like you, and I rock 😉
Plus without my iPhone, I wouldn’t be in the picture often.
I’m glad there are no “mom on the Android” posts going around. LOL. But seriously, I do love that post. And yours 🙂 And you. And kinda Al Roker. But Fat Al.
Totally prefer Fat Al.
Amen!
Thanks for reading and for sharing!
