We have officially officially started solids! B LOVES to eat! I can’t tell you the number of people that have asked me about poop when I tell them we are using cloth diapers. In the beginning, there was absolutely nothing to think about. The boy only had breast milk for the first 6 months of his life. Just toss it in the pail, easy enough. But food! Oh my. Now he poops. Like, for real. It’s weird and smelly, and well, he is a little person, so you know…
And so brings me to my favorite item of the week. Diaper liners. We tried quite a few different brands when Ben first came home. Why? Because I had NO IDEA I could just put breast milk poop in the washer. Thank goodness I realized I could. The kid was pooping at least 15 times a day! We settled on one brand that worked great for us, and stocked up. When he started foods we were completely prepared.
Bumkins Flushable Diaper Liners are AWESOME. They are soft, so he doesn’t notice them. They breathe and actually pull the moisture away from him, so they help prevent any rashes, and they keep all the poop off my cloth! They are $7.99 for 100, and hopefully he’ll get a little more scheduled and I don’t have to use them for every diaper change. We toss the wet ones in the trash with his wipes and the dirty ones get flushed. It’s perfect.
Disposable users: Did you know you are supposed to remove the poop from your diapers before disposing of them? Keep human waste out of landfills!
And that friends, is my favorite item of the week. Little man is making his poop face, I gotta go.
