We’re entering that world. Slowly, but surely. We have the seat. We have the underpants. We have the ability to hold it. For up to 7 hours apparently. What’s not there yet is a desire to actually use the potty.
I was all about potty learning. Him doing it at his own pace. He’ll figure it out. It will happen. I don’t want to stress him out. I don’t want to traumatize him. I don’t want to break him and be dealing with “accidents” or “regressions” for another year+. I wanted diapers or underpants. No in between.
Here I sit with an almost 32 month old (just over 2.5 years old) who doesn’t want to wear diapers, but doesn’t want to go in the potty. He can hold it all day. Sit around naked and everything stays dry. And then a diaper for nap or bedtime and he goes.
Now what?
The one thing I’ve learned so far? The reason moms get so good about asking their kids to pee before they leave somewhere is that moms have to remind themselves! Peeing in public with a toddler in tow can be quite the adventure. Have a toddler and a newly mobile baby. HAHAHAHA hope you did your kegels.
Good Luck! The one piece of advice I offer you is to have a lot of patience.
