I waited until he was over 6 months old to give him food. We started with avocado. I think he was eating for a couple weeks before he had homemade rice cereal (brown rice thrown in a coffee grinder). I made ALL of his food. No salt, no sugar, all home made.
Fast forward to 11 months old. When we got sick. All of us. And the nanny called out. And here I was exhausted with a cold and a cranky baby with his first cold. And he was teething! Oh those top teeth! He had all together stopped eating. Which meant sleeping wasn’t that great… And then this happened:
And I felt terrible the first time I did it. I didn’t even want to tell PTB. I almost didn’t. But I am horrible at keeping secrets from him. It’s a miracle there are ever Christmas surprises.
He gave me a hard time jokingly. Knowing I had a horrible time with the decision and trying to make light of it. I got over it. Despite the effort to escape his chair, he liked it. He really liked it. And it went on. For about 2 weeks. Just for dinner. He would still eat his breakfast and lunch. But now it is all gone. And we have a new nanny. And that means more time for mommy. To make dinner, and plan meals, and get her work done, and not be completely wiped out by the end of the day (maybe, but doubtful). I am not a bad mommy. Just a really, really tired one.
