You know how you have certain memories of things from your childhood and they are perfect. Yeah. That.
Trendy right now: “Quiet Books”. I don’t think that’s what they have always been called. Activity Books, Learning Books. Mine was called a “Zoo Book”. I don’t think i want to call it a Quiet Book for B. I mean… comon…. what kid WANTS to be quiet? It’s known to children everywhere, built in even, that you want to be as loud as possible. Yes, the result of a fabric activity book might be quiet play, but do you want your kid to know that? Seems like that would result in a lot of noise.
So, my zoo book. I was hoping to give it to Ben. I remember it being AWESOME. I asked my mom to find it at their house. She brought it with her to his birthday. It is still awesome, but I don’t know that Ben would get much out of it. But I might base his on mine. It shows that I loved it. It shows that it is nearly 30 years old. It shows that I got it for my 4th Christmas. That gives me hope that I have at least 2 more years to make one for Ben. It is still awesome, and I love that my mom made it for me. But when it was supposed to be my out for making one…I think it did the exact opposite.
Zippers and Hooks. What alligator doesn’t love ice cream?
The elephant’s roller skates have seen better days.
Belt buckles and tying ribbons with a kangaroo and giraffe.
And the little joey hiding inside!
The hippo was clearly one of my favorite pages.
The last page has a pocket for all the goodies. And that velcro is still strong!
